Issue 4 of the standard, to be launched in November , has been upgraded to provide supply chain visibility and assurance of industry developments such as e-commerce and cross-docking. The Standard is specifically designed for logistics operations dealing with Food, Packaging, and Consumer Products. It is easy to understand, uses prescriptive language, and applicable for global application. It is fully flexible as operations can implement the full scope, or a scope relevant to their operation e.

BRC Global Standard Issue 3: Storage and Distribution Quick Guide

The goal of the Standard is to ensure that the quality and safety of products during storage and distribution are maintained. Certification is granted when a site demonstrates compliance with all requirements of the Standard during a third-party audit conducted by a BRC approved certification body CB. The BRC ensures confidence in certification by rating approved CBs based on their technical performance and efficiency in customer service.
